China ban raises cost of recycling. What can you do?

At our local supermarkets, plastic is everywhere. Cherry tomatoes and basil come in small plastic clamshells. Yogurt is sold only in plastic tubs. Cheese comes in cling wrap. Cauliflower and iceberg lettuce have their own custom plastic bags. Bringing home plastic waste is almost impossible to avoid.

This is the story of a growing number of people who are starting to try.
